From 1st June 2009 the Middlesbrough practice will be merging with our other branches at Coulby Newham amd Stokesley. We feel that this will enableus to offer an improved service to our patients, as optometrists will be available six days a week, and both practices offer better car parking facilities. Some of the Middlesbrough reception staff will be transferring to the other practice, so there will still be a familiar face to welcome you.

Appointments for the Middlesbrough Emergency Eye care scheme will be available at the Coulby Newham practice, as will appointments for Ortho k contact lens wearers.

We greatly value the tremendous loyalty shown by our patients over the years and wish to continue this relationship with you. We have been seeing many of our patients for over 50years so we must be doing something right! We very much hope that  you are able to make the move to one of our other practices and we look forward to seeingyou again in the future.

We are one of the longest established opticians in the Middlesbrough area. The business was started in 1925 by William and Evelyn Cooper and since then the business has grown and changed with the times, but we pride ourselves on still being able to offer a personal and professional service to our patients combined with quality products and value for money.

Like most opticians, we provide private and free NHS sight tests and contact lens fitting and aftercare. However we are also part of the Middlesbrough Emergency Eye Care Scheme (Borough Road and Coulby Newham practices) and North Yorkshire Low Vision scheme (Stokesley practice), as well as Teesside Vision for Children.

The practices are open six days a week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays. Appointments outside these times can be made if required. Free parking is available at all 3 practices.

All three practices carry a wide range of frames from budget to top end, with each practice having a different selection of designer names. Customers are sometimes suprised to find that our prices are extremely competitive when compared with the big names for equivalent frames and lenses, plus our cheerful and helpful staff will make choosing your next pair of specs a pleasurable experience in an unpressured enviroment.

We are also one of the few opticians in the North East to offer ortho k - a revolutionary system which gives clear vision all day without the need for glasses or contact lenses, and is a viable alternative to laser.
